L Arabinose is a monosaccharide containing 5 carbon atoms. L-Arabinose is a white crystalline powder with a sweetness about 50% of that of sugar. L Arabinose appears to selectively inhibit the sucrase activity in the small intestine which can control the increase of blood sugar caused by intake of sugar.
L-Arabinose:

L-arabinose strongly inhibits the absorption of Sucrose from the small intestine. Adding 2-3% of L-arabinose with Sucrose causes an approximate 60% reduction of the digestion of Sucrose in the small intestine
